Chief Dan Duncan, Melbourne Beach Police

Chief Duncan has over 30 years of progressive leadership and management experience in Law Enforcement. Chief Duncan began his career with the Melbourne Police Department in 1979; through his abilities and knowledge, he progressed up the ranks to the position of Commander. Chief Duncan graduated from Columbia Southern University with a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice Administration. Prior to his Law Enforcement career he served in the United States Air Force and worked on the U-2 Spy Plane. Chief Duncan is currently the Chief of Police for the Town of Melbourne Beach, and his goals are to implement the Community-Policing philosophy in the department and continue with building the neighborhood watch programs and implementing new Crime Prevention programs within the Town. The goal is to build a strong partnership between the Police Department and the community. The Chief has an open door policy to all residents that would like to voice any concerns. He is available from Monday-Friday from 8-5 pm.
