  • Engineered drawings were received from Jones Edmunds for Oak Street pedway corrective action plan.

  • Deadline for submitting applications for Police Chief position is Friday, March 30th. 79 inquires and 55 complete packets have been received. Civil Service Board meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, April 10th to determine qualified applicants.

  • Second quarter 2007 newsletter was mailed.

  • Police officer admitted to Holmes Regional Medical Center complaining of hip pain on Wednesday night. Incident occurred during traffic stop, but not due to pursuit or altercation. Florida League of Cities contacted for workers’ compensation claim. Awaiting evaluation from hospital.

  • Met with applicant for Sand on the Beach restaurant. Applicant indicated intent to revise plans and withdraw special exception use application requesting a restaurant for the immediate future.

  • Independent auditors began fieldwork for preparation of the FY 2006 annual audit.

  • Attended Historic Preservation Grant Application review in Tallahassee. Our application requested $10,000 for the preparation of engineering plans and specifications to rehabilitate the Ryckman House. 81 applications were reviewed. 19-30 will receive funding depending upon the amount appropriated by the legislature during the current session for the FY 2008 state budget. Our project received an average ranking of 51 out of the 81 applications. Therefore, we will not be recommended for funding during this grant cycle. We will discuss this issue with the Historical Preservation and Awareness Board to develop a recommendation for the future direction of this project.

  • Lease-purchase agreement for the acquisition of two police cars has been developed. Will be placed on April 18th Town Commission meeting for consideration.
