A special meeting of the Town Commission of the Town of Melbourne Beach, Florida was called to order by 
Mayor Wille at 7:36 p.m. on Monday, December 10, 2001 in the Commission Room of Town Hall.

DISCUSSION OF APPLICANTS FOR THE TOWN MANAGER POSITIONNT PROGRAM; PROVIDING 
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
The Town Commission advertised for applicants to fill the Town Manager position and received 36 resumes. 
The Town Commission had reviewed these resumes and each listed those applicants they felt best met the 
requirements for the position. (A copy of each Commissioners list is attached)

The Town Commission discussed the applicants at length and selected five applicants to interview for the position 
and also selected four others to be considered for possible interviews.  The applicants to be interviewed are as follows:  
Amy E. Arrington, Roger Baltz, Terry Leary, Hugh David Williams and Kerry Willis.  Those to be considered for 
possible interviews are:  Bill Andrews, John P. Ketteringham, Robert L. Norris and David Sallee.

The Town Commission discussed interview dates and times decided to interview two applicants on Wednesday,
 December 12, 2001; two applicants on Thursday, December 13, 2001 and leave the dates of December 20th and 27th 
as fall-back dates.  The interview times would be from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.  The 
Interim Town Clerk will be requested to contact those selected for interviews and set the dates and times.

It was discussed to ask Roger Baltz to pay his air travel expense from California.  The Town would pay the vehicle 
mileage and motel room for those applicants who would have to travel by vehcile to the interviews.

The Town Commission discussed the idea of setting a “Goals” workshop with the new Town Manager as soon as 
possible after he or she is hired.
