TOWN COMMISSION - Workshop Meeting

The Town Commission of the Town of Melbourne Beach, Florida met in workshop session on Thursday, June 18, 2005 in the 
Cynthia Masny Room of Town Hall, 507 Ocean Avenue, beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Mayor Stacey called the meeting to order. The purpose of the meeting was to interview two applicants for the position of town 
clerk. 

Pat Burke was the first applicant to be interviewed. Individual commissioners questioned her as to experience, education, knowledge 
and skills related to the position of town clerk. Mrs. Burke served as the village clerk for Melbourne Village from 1997 through 2001. 
Following her departure from Melbourne Village she pursued her bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida having 
graduated in May 2005 with a degree in education and social sciences.

The Town Commission then interviewed Lenore Milan asking questions as to her experience, education, knowledge and skills. 
Ms. Milan currently served as the interim village clerk in El Portal and was looking to relocate to the Melbourne area. She also 
had municipal experience in Biscayne Park and Surfside. Ms. Milan possessed a Florida real estate license.

Following the interviews, Vice-Mayor Wilson moved that commissioners individually rank the top two candidates of the four that 
were interviewed today as well as June 16, 2005. Mayor Stacey seconded the motion and it carried.

Vice-Mayor Wilson:

Second interviews with finalists would be scheduled at the Town Commission’s pleasure.

The meeting adjourned at 11:50 a.m.
